The convent's library contains more than 25,000 ancient books, some of which were printed in the 15th century, and is one of the most important historical collections in Peru. Originally a large Indian burial ground, the palace was built at the beginning of the 16th century (1535) by the Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro, who is recognized as the founder of the city of Lima. After Spanish rule, the palace was transformed into the French neo-baroque Presidential Palace in 1937, becoming the first official palace of the city. Today it is the official residence of the President of Peru and the place where the government holds its meetings. The Presidential Palace is famous for its catacombs and library. ( If it is closed for reasons such as the President's office, a tour of the exterior will be conducted instead) Lima Cathedral Built in 1535 in the Baroque style, the Cathedral has been rebuilt at least five times in the neo-classical style and is one of the most historically significant religious buildings in Peru. It is one of Peru's most historically significant religious buildings, with a magnificent interior and the resting place of Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro. Parque del Amor" (Park of Love) In the center of the park is a sculpture of a man and a woman in love, called "The Kiss", created by Peruvian artist Victor Delfin and inspired by the Parc Güell in Gaudí, Barcelona, Spain. The park is one of the most beautiful parks in Lima, as it has an unrivaled view of the sea.

Details Archeological Sanctuary of Pachacamac (Pachacamac) This was the most important religious site in South America during the Inca period, dedicated to the god Pachacamac, to whom believers from all over the Andes traveled long distances to seek enlightenment. Lima Antiquities Museum (Larco Museum) A private museum with a collection of great pre-Columbian art from South America spanning 4,000 years. The museum was named one of the "25 Best Museums in the World" by Tripadvisor's Traveler's Choice Awards. The museum showcases the art and history of Peru's ancient civilizations, while its storage area contains a large collection of ceramics depicting people, objects, fruits and birds from the daily lives of ancient Peruvians. Overflight Nasca Lines We will fly in a small plane over the Ocucaje Valley, surrounded by mountains and preserving the fossilized remains of a 150 million year old ocean. Continue to the birthplace of the Nazca civilization - Santa Cruz Valley, Palpa Valley, Viscas Valley and Ingenio Valley - for an aerial view of the geometry of the Nazca lines. It was once an important military, religious and agricultural center during the Inca period. It is an outstanding representative of Inca architecture with its grand scale and unique style. The Inca Empire regarded the sun as the source of life, and after the winter solstice, when the days were short and the nights were long, the Incas worshipped the sun god and prayed for the sun to return to the earth, bringing light, warmth, and a good harvest. Held at three historic sites in the capital city of Cusco - the Temple of the Sun, the Plaza de Armas and the Plaza de Sacsayhuaman - the ceremony is celebrated by thousands of residents and travelers, and has been named one of the "Three Great Festivals of South America". Koricancha (Temple of the Sun ) The festivities begin at the Temple of the Sun, the most revered temple of the Inca Empire, once adorned with glittering gold and with massive stone walls that stand as a testament to the construction techniques of the ancient Inca civilization. The first part of the ceremony begins with the High Priest announcing the arrival of the Inca King, and the Queen presiding over the ceremony, offering flowers and sacrifices to the Sun God. Plaza de Armas Cusco's most important main square, where the second performance of the Sun Festival takes place. Once the economic backbone of the ancient Inca Empire, each salt flat is inherited from father to son. Andahuaylillas Chapel Known as the "Sistine Chapel of the Americas," this Catholic church was built in the early 17th century and is thought to have been constructed on the site of an Inca ceremonial site.
